I have an interesting one for you guys (and gals). We have 3 phones all with the same extension. A 2616, a regular 500 set and a second 500 set with a cordless phone attached. Just today, the 2 analog phone starting ringing constantly. When you pick up the handset, there is dialtone. The digital phone works fine.

The ringing only goes away when we put the phone offhook or when I disable each analog tn. Do I have something activated that I'm missing? Any help would be great!

Ken

Either the analog line card is hosed up, or the ring generator card on the PE or IPE shelf.

Sorry - its an Option 11 and the 500 sets are on different cards. Only those 2 phones are having this problem. All other 500 sets work OK. Thanks

Ken

On the OPT 11 the main pwr supply supplies the ring voltage. Disable the analog card in LD 10 (DISC x) back it out and reseat ...ENLC x. If this doesn't stop the ringing, make sure their is no jumper on the TN and monitor with a butt set to see if ringing is still present. Also try another port on the same card. Their is nothing you can program to produce constant ringing unless its a HOT D (ringdown) to a specific DN.

The Patch "mplr 09158" is for never end ringing 500 sets,go to load 22 and type ISSP you get an List of active patches, if the patch not activ contact your Provider to add this Patch. Im from Germany, so i hope you enjoy my funny English

I've had this happen on my Meridian switch when some yahoo plugged a 2000 series (2616) phone into an analog (500/2500) line. For some reason it makes other phones on the same card ring. Perhaps the patch from our friend above in Germany fixes this, but look for 2xxx sets plugged into analog ports. (Our users were trying to steal 2616 speakerphones and didn't know they won't work on analog ports!)[COLOR=/green]

Thanks for your comments. One of the analog tn's appear to be bad and caused the second to ring as well. Thanks for the help.
