we are going to install a 5-carrier g605's.

I could not find a good rack to mount those. the manual recommends open rack and no enclosures. I have searched to find a good rack which in our case a 40U, since each carrier is 8U.

I read the instuction manual by avaya, but I don't know which rack should i go for? 2-post or 4-post...

any suggestions?

thanx

If you go with a 2-post rack, it will need to be anchored to a wall or something. But, a 2 post rack will work.

Put them in a 2 post rack and secure the rack to the wall with overhead cable management ladder. You can get racks from many manufacturers. I have done CPI (Chatsworth Products) and one other brand that the name escapes me for the moment. Stay with a good brand and you will be very happy.

thank you guys for your reply.

I am not so sure about fixing them to the wall coz we are planning to put in place more than 10 g650's and avaya recommeds some clearence allowance spaces, (i am sure you found them in the book).

the room we have is a raised floor room and i don't think we would need the overhead cabel management though.

i check the site for the two products and they both look good.

thank you.

regards

koolEngr,

avaya sells 46U standard racks, sap code is 700260037.
