Hello everyone, in running through a keyword search on the forum there are some great ideas, but I don't think any of them fall into my boat.
Overview:
Server1 - NT 4.0 Backoffice Exchange 5.5 Latest SP
Server2 - 2k Server Exchange 5.5 Latest SP
Server1 has the IMS and handles all inbound and outbound mail for the org, Server2 is in the same org and houses all private and public information stores. I need to get IMS running on Server2 so I can totally remove Server1 from the network and upgrade to to 2k and Exchange 2k, however I cannot do that without totally moving all services off of this machine.
I'm completely lost, cannot find anything on Technet or MSDN to help me figure this one out.
One other tidbit: when I go to install IMS on Server2 it provides the following error message:
The IMS requires DNS domain name to be configured on Server2. To configure the domain name use the Network Icon in the control panel on Server2, or select another server.
I swear that I've put in the domain name in so many different places in this server that I can't do it anywhere else.
Thanks for any help!
