I'm aware that 5.5 RES plays nice with Windows 7 installations on the store level, but there isn't much in release notes regarding the EM version of 5.5 and it's compatibility with Windows.

Anyone out there know if our Windows 7 EM server can be upgraded to 5.5 from 5.4 without the usual snags?

We are running ours on windows server 2008 which is essentially windows 7 - afaik they use the same kernel.

I figured as much since RES servers running Win 7 are compatible with 5.5. Thanks for the follow up.

Are you pushing packets to machines running on Windows 10 as well? Any other caveats or pitfalls you and your team hit along the way with regards to the upgrade or running the patches at the store level afterwards?

res 5.5 has problems with windows 10. There are some critical updates that are installed in the creators update patch that will break res 5.5 GR and MR1-MR4. if you are running res 5.6 and windows 10 (with latest windows updates) this should not be a problem. if you want to install RES 5.5 on a windows 10 machine you will need to get a companion update release by micros that fixes the database fault.
