Hello again all! I'm working on a Baystack 470-24T now. And, ports 7 and 8 don't work. I've tried replacing the main chip for the ports, and the resistor pack, and I re-wired a corroded lead from the resistor pack to the port jack. I also re-wired the conducting pad's that the jack pins go in to because a few were corroded. As in, the little holes the pins go in to on the board that have the conductive metal in side. But, ports 7 and 8 still don't work when I test them. More specifically, they don't Link 'Up' and the Speed never reaches 'Full.' The LED's on the ports work though. So, I guess my question is, do you think I'm SOL? Or, any ideas on what to do?

ok.. silly question.. why are you re-soldering the boards instead of getting it repaired by nortel?

I'm going to call SOL on this one...

Cause we're a repair house and I'm trying to fix it for a customer. And yes, I think it's time to call it quits on this one. Too much corrosion.
