thread690-1143713 I saw this thread and was wondering if this was ever settled. I have 5 remote sites off a 8700, and at random I will get failures in the alarm log. I can ping the IP address of the phones but they are out of service, I go out there and the phone looks normal faceplate except no dialtone. All I do is unplug phone and plug back in and phone returns to normal

it sounds like your heatbeat to the main server is irregular. Run a continuous ping from s8700 to the remote gateway for about 20 minutes and see what losses you get. Your problem could be one of many things. Delayed Dial Tone and No dial tone will have two different type of problems.
