Considering replacing Magix with 412. System has 1-T1, 150- 4400 series sets (mostly 4406D) Have any of you guys had any experience with this one? Would you do it again?
Or were there major pitfalls for you or the end-user?
Thanks for any and all comments!
Belinda

I have a lot of sites with 44xx phones. Keep in mind 4424LD's dont work and i think that the 4400's dont work either. they work well on all the sites we have them on. The IPO was designed to use them as an upgrade path out of Magix

Forgot all about up-grade path. I have a few sites with a couple of 4400 series sets which work great- just not this many. Thanks again.

Magix to IPOffice is a good choice, your users should transition easily and YOU will be very happy with the programming interface over the Magix WinSPM disaster.

Speaking of upgrades, the newer IP Office phones (ie: 5400/2400 series)occasionaly require bin file upgrades. I have not seen any major improvements with this upgrade, but I have had issues with phones trying to update... from one phone locking up an entire expansion module, to bin files not loading and the phones show "please wait" indefinitely. I would use 44xx phones over the others, but would suggest 4412's.

Also, Magix phones have LED's that you can see from a distance, the newer phones you have to be right on top of them to see what is going on.

True - but if you do a lot of remote support (I do basically nothing but) then it is incredibly convenient to have those paperless labels. No more emailing new labels every time you change a button, or calling the receptionist and getting them to change a label with their pen...

It would be nice if they came out with a line that was a compromise - lots of physical buttons and LED's like the 4400 series and paperless lables to boot... ah a guy can dream!

I know, a little LED next to the buttons on a 5410/20 would be great and solve lot's of whining from customers. Anyway I'm getting cold...I'd better go throw another One X QE on the fire!! lol

@tlpeter: Those 16xx series phones don't have paperless labels (doing it from my memory) so Morrack can keep on dreaming.

Escorthosis is right the 1616 is not paperless

Belinda:

We've done it a few times and it's fine. There are some differences, but not enough to get too worked up about. The previous posts have highlighted the caveats. The biggest caveat, however, would be the future of the 4400 sets - let's just say they're "on the back nine." I personally thought the 4400 sets were kind of nasty anyway. I know 150 sets is a good-sized investment by the customer, but they may be throwing good money after bad. And another thing: what's the future of the 412? You may want to sharpen your sales skills and move the customer to all new equipment.

One thing to keep in mind, the IP500 does NOT support 44xx sets on the base unit, only on DS expansion modules.

I know,i realy do not understand avaya in this
Why not using the 96xx serie
First there are paperless buttons wich is great and easy maintaining
And then introducing phones with paperlabels
It is like going back ten years in time
But it has leds :)
