I have a 412 with 2 20 Channel VCM's installed, 1 DS 30, 1 DS 16, and 2 Analog 16 Expansion Modules. There are a total of 40 4424d+ phones on the system with 2 50button dss modules. There are 14 lins on the system also. The System has be installed now for 3 weeks, and we have been having problems with calls being cut off, 412 loosing connection to the expansion modules, or the system just totally rebooting on its own. Was wondering if anyone else out there has ever experienced these same types of problems. Any feedback would be appreciated. heykid26 [cannon]

Are the expansion module connected using the supplied (blue 1M FTP) cables?

Avaya just posted 1.3(32) on support.avaya.com. Make sure all your modules are upgraded to that version.

Yes, I used the suppied cables which came with the units, and yes, all modules are using software code 1.3(32). I have since replaced the 412 with a 406 and have had no problems. Everything is the same, even the programming. All I did was exported all entities from the 412 and imported to the 406. Are there any other company's out there that have a 412 in place with sort of the same configuration? heykid26 [cannon]

Yes,

We have a couple of 412's in the field but have no problem. This might be a long shot but try grounding the units.

Yeah, I had all modules and the 412 grounded. A question for kompupro....

Do you use both ethernet ports on the 412, or just the one? And if you do use both, did you place them in different subnets?

Are you paging over the sets, because if you are there can only be 16 people in each group or the DS modules will reboot. Also I think you are over your LED limit. Check with AVAYA to see if you are.

Heykid26,

We only use one of the network ports. Sorry.

Both Lans MUST be on different sub nets
I would also recommend a further upgrade to 1.3(37)
this lists a number of 412 bug fixes

I have the same problem with an IP412 and v2.1.27 It seems that this is a very old problem. The IP412 loose connection with the expansion modules every 2 months...

Do you know how to fix this??

Are you using 2 50 DSS modules for every phone or are there only 2 DSS 50 modules total. I thought I heard there was an issue with the number of DSS 50 you can have on an expansion module. Try placing the the phones with those DSS 50 on separate expansion modules.
