412 and DTMF digits for FAX 3

i created a user faxfwd ext 199, unconditional forward to the fax hunt group
i pointing the incoming call route for my fax #'s to this user... the DTMF is coming through as 199, not the number dialed.
i guess i'll try the shortcode way next?

I had problems with this as well. Here's how I got it to work:
Set analog ports for fax server to DTMFB
Create a hunt group for those analog ports
In VM Pro, go to Administration, Properties, General and enter the hunt group for the above analog ports into the System Fax Number Field.
Then, create a user for that fax extension that has voicemail.
The voicemail will pick-up, recognize it is a fax, send it to the hunt group created and pass the proper digits through.
The BIG issue with setting it up this way is that you have to create a user for each fax number.

I've been reading all of these posts, we have an omni rush fax server, we have a few users setup that will work having the user forwarding to hunt group and an incoming call route for the 4 digits coming in. However, when we try to setup other users and they are setup exactly the same it won't work. Do you need to reboot, that comes at a premium around here? Why would 4 people work just fine?!? Thanks for any input. I'm new at this so sorry if this sounds like a silly question...
you should be able to send ddi digets to an analog port direct from the ddi with the following setup
ShortCode:666
number:216D.
Feature DialExtn.
Incomming call route:
Incomming Number 123456
Destination 666
This will send the DDIO digits recieved to the analog port as DTMF NOT the 666 of the short code.
if the incomming number is set as -12345, then 123450 to 123459 would all be sennt as DTMF to the alog extn.

Ive spent a lot of my time including Avaya tier 3 tech time working on this. The ONLY way I got this to work is by the following method. We are using two fax servers for 6 offices. There are two parts to my config: the centralized fax office, and the remote offices.
Centralized fax office (where the fax server resides)
Create a user for the fax extension
Name: Fax#### (name it whatever, this method will kep all the fax numbers together)
Ext : ####### (7 digit DID fax #. This field supports a max of 9 digits, which means you have to route by 7, not 10)
Unc. forward to fax group: #### (this is assuming that you have the analog ports defined as DTMFB and in a hunt group already)
Uncheck everything else in the user tabs.
Incoming call route - create a ICR for DID faxes
IN: ########## (10 digit number)
Dest: "####### Fax####"(select fax user created above)
Remote office (doesnt have a fax server)
Incoming call route - create a ICR for DID faxes

SC: "202xxxx" (prefix of fax #'s)
TN: "202N"

Excellent thread. MultiTech's document on interfacing the FaxFinder with the Avaya IPOffice stated that the extensions should be set to DTMFF. This setup was not passing DTMF tones. Once I found this thread I changed the settings to DTMFB and everything worked like a charm.
I called MultiTech to update my trouble ticket but it didn't sound like they were very interested :/ I would have hoped they would since they had no idea how to help me.
