I am trying to print to mutiple trays on my network. So for each of the 4100TN laserjets we have, I have the printer driver installed 3 times, one for each tray. And on each of these I have the tray selected under printing preferences and on the paper tab. However, when I attempt to print a test page from either tray 1 or tray 2, it prints to tray 3. Tray 3 is currently the default. I go back into properties and sure enough the right tray is selected. I have had to work fine for me in the past, but for some reason is just won't work this time. Does anyone have an idea what may be going on?

Try changing the paper type for each tray.

I dont understand why you would want to install the printer 3 times.

On the printer you can set the page type and then in the document you can set my paper type or by tray depending on which drivers you have installed.

If you are using NT forms I have only seen them cause problems.

UNless you have a really really large workplace why dont you just make a local IP port on the computers having the problem and print from there. I have no print problems doing this.

The problem here ended up the fact that each Terminal Server session needed to have the correct paper tray selected, so everything works fine now.

As for what framlrizzojerky said, I am not sure I follow you. The accounting software we use utilizes mutiple trays simutaneously. So when an invoice is saved, it will print from potential 3 different trays, but having different drivers setup for each tray. How could you possibly do this without installing mutiple drivers???

The computer is setup with a local IP port.
