I have an ip406v2 with the following licences:-
Voicemail pro (4 ports) - unlimited
Phone manager Pro - unlimited
IBLF - unlimited
Soft Console - 1 user
Phone manager Pro IP audio enabled - 1 user

I also have an ip500 (v1 - mode = professional) with VCM32 + Phone 8 + ATM4 + Dual BRI
with just voice networking channels (4)

Can the ip406 licences be transferred to the ip500?, if not what would I need to use voicemail pro

Both are currently running 5.0 but I will upgrade the ip500 if required

The PhoneManager - unlimited license cannot be swapped to a new dongle, only the per seat licenses can be swapped.
All the other licenses can be swapped to a new dongle.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

You could also link the 406v2 and the 500, and they would share licences. unless you intend on upgrading the 500 to R8.1

Intrigrant are you sure?
I think we did this before from a parallel dongle.
You cannot use it for office worker that is what i remember.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

if you've got licenses on the IP500v1 already, the 406v2 licenses can't move to a card that has licenses already... gotta be a new card.
does IP500v1 have SCN license on it already as below?
with just voice networking channels (4)

beware of that when doing upgrades and ordering new licenses (if you're adding more at same time for same system....) do upgrade first, then order additional licenses. ;)

Cheers,

Chris

Chris, you can but those licenses do not show up anymore in ADI (Avaya license bank)
And when you have to do a new swap then they are gone.
As long as you have the 32 character license key then you still can use it.

oh, our disti has put the hob cosh on us from transferring licenses from one card to another that both had valid licenses... we have to have a blank card to do upgrades to (say from parallel/USB to SD)
We did have the ability bout 12 months ago, but not any more? Ha! maybe I should be getting someone in Europe to do our license swaps? ;)

The IP500 does have voice networking channels licence on it, but I don't think I need it
I do have the 32 character license key for all the licences
If the voicemail pro is transferred do I have to upgrade from v5.0 professional to preffered edition or does the licence transfer take care of that?

The standard to professional is not needed anymore from 5.0 and up.
You will need an essential edition license otherwise preferred won't work.

in our land, we'd probably get a new SD / Smart card (v2/v1 dependent) and get a normal license transfer done from IP406v2 to the new card.
I think if you have upgrade license in place/ runtime license etc, then you'll get a virtual essential too.
we upgraded a 403 to 500v2, which had vmpro, and it spat the dummy early on with all the essential dramas going on... think we did the downgrade/upgrade trick and it gave us the virtual essential edtion license, so preferred was happy again :)

In regards to the above, what would you need if your connecting an IP 406V2 R5 to an IP500v2 R8.1, on a SCN?

I remember now.
Only the per seat licenses can be used.

Yes a SCN but a swap is easier and cheaper.
