A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator.
<server.domain.com #4.4.6>

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like your e-mail is caught in a loop between mail servers.

Do you have any forwarding taking place on both servers?

Also...
The maximum hop count is defaulted to 15. Do you have a mail route that is larger than 15 hops?

So, two possibilities...
Loop condition (which is what I suspect)or...
You have too many hops between mail servers.

Good Luck.

After some more testing, we found out the message was being NDR back to us due to a limited amount of hops. We added additional hops by going with a 3rd party (sprint) for scanning of email for virus and content. This additonal hop put us over the 15 limit. Once we bumped the hops to 20, we were able to send messages again.

Thanks for the reply

Mitch
