4.3.3 downgrade to 4.1.5

i have to install Aix 4.1.5 on a 43P which is already install in 4.3, i try to boot on the Cd but it does not work.

I start in maintenance mode with the cd and the installation not begin.

I try with System management Services to install from cd, but it does not find my cd 4.1.

Which model of 43P do you have....Not all did 4.1.5
the 43P 100 I believe did 4.1.5.......but you had to remove the battery and let the
nvram drain ..........before trying to load.........

And be careful with unsupported adapters if you added new ones......since not all adpaters worked with 4.1.5.........

My station is a 43P 150, i want to install 4.1.5 to restore a mksysb done with 4.1.5 OS, then i want to upgrade to version 5.

First, did 4.1.5 work on 43P 150 ???

If there are some unsupported adapters, does the install let me restore the mksysb ???

The 7043-150 only did OS
AIX Version 4.2.1, Version 4.3.3, or Version 5.1 operating system

so the mksysb restore probably will fail. If you have new adapters
the code will not be a part of the 4.1.5 os mksysb.... and so depending on
the device it could fail....with no drivers....

It was also not wise, in my opinion, to go from 4.1.5 to 5.1 ......safer to go from 4.3.3
to 5.1 .........

Good Luck.......Perhaps you can just restore your data onto the 4.3.3 system rather than try to bring the machine down to 4.1.5?
