I have 8 35gig SCSI drives setup as 2 mirrored volumes. I then copied data which had peviously resided on a 98 workstation to the server but soon relized that there was no support for long filenames. After some reading I loaded long.nam. Why can't I just rename the truncated directories?

Nevermind. I forgot to "ADD NAME SPACES" on the server.

What syntax do you use to ADD NAME SPACES? What file does the line go in?

load long
Add name Space long to "volname"

example
Load Long
Add Name Space Long to vol1

You only need to do this once per volume per namespace.

The system will auto load needed namespaces each time you re-boot.
