Okay. So I installed 4.1 and the IP sets downloaded the latest firmware v2.8 for 46xx sets. Now it never gets past the
Discover x.x.x.x (x.x.x.x is the ip of the IPO).

It loads the firmware, gets and IP Address, requests 46xxsettings.txt and 46upgrade.scr then stays on Discover.

I tried static and dynamic IP settings. Any ideas?

Drew

check that you can ping the ipoffice from the same IP location. double check all your ip settings on the phone or scope.

if remote, check the ip office has a route back to your ip location, although ping above will tell you this.

I have used these bins on a 4.0 site and they worked great. the issue i had was the phones had no router and subnet mask. Once i put that in they worked great.

They aren't remote, they are local to the system. I have also tried to "hard" set the IP, netmask, etc. Just sits there at Discover. They were working prior to this using 2.3. Is there a way to COMPLETELY purge the phone config (the internal one)?

UPDATE:
So the phone backlight shuts off. Which is great, however, none of the IP phones are working anymore and they can't get past Discover.

I have a 4621SW working on my 406V2 @ 4.1.
Check your settings again and make sure your SCR and TXT files are in the TFTP database folder. and use stsatic ip addressing if you do not have a 3rd party DHCP server set up with option 176.

Hey all,
what is your experience with the not supported bin files and IPO. I´m looking for some feautures with lldp which aren´t implemented in th 2.3.

8.5 Phone Firmware Support
The table below lists the phone firmware versions that are supported by IP Office 4.1
General Release software.
Phone Type Firmware Version
2402, 5402 2.0*
2410, 2420, 5410, 5420 5.0
4606, 4612, 4624 Not supported in 4.1
4601, 4602, 4620, 5601, 5602 2.3
4601+, 4602+, 5601+ and 5602+ 2.824
4610, 4620SW, 4621, 4625, 5610, 5620, 5621 2.8.24
4610, 4620SW, 4621, 5610, 5620, 5621 VPN 2.3252

I have found that 4606 and 4612 phones no longer work after I upgraded to 4.1 unless I am doing something wrong.

Terminal Support
The following terminals are not supported by IP Office 4.1. They may function but have not been tested with 4.1 and any faults reported with 4.1 will not be fixed.

20DT Analog DECT used with IP Office Analog DECT and Compact DECT

4606, 4612 and 4624 IP phones

I do have option 176 setup in my PIX. SCR and TXT are both received by the phone as you can view the activity from the Manager PC. It downloads the updates and then will stick on "Discover x.x.x.x"

Anyone have any ideas? What settings in the 46xxsettings.txt file would cause it not to talk? Is there anyone else using a 3rd party DHCP server and have option 176 set? If so what does it look like? As of now, I no longer have working IP phones (except for the 5610 which is external to the office).

I've used static IP's and it stays on Discover...

Perhaps it is the sw version 2.8.it could be that ipo 4.1 makes an validation of the phone sw,to check the licences of the vpnphones, so perhaps 2.8 isn't working anymore.

You have to load a special firmware version for vpn. I'm using the standard load. Also, I've tried static and nothing. It just hangs on Discover x.x.x.x

I dont want to insult you with this. But has anything else changed? Do your IP Routes look good on the IPO? Are there any VLANS set up on this? could you have 2 routes that overlap or something. I have used the 2.8 bins but they were not with 4.1 manager. we used them on a 3.2 system and i am rolling them out again tomorrow on a 4.0 system. i will post back and let you know how things go. Is this a 406V2? what port are you plugged into? Maybe it has something to do with the 8th port or something. Do you see anything in monitor when the phone tries to connect.

What system do you have and what version did you upgrade from to get to 4.1?
Are you giving the phones time to load and reset? Sometimes it takes 15 minutes per phone or longer.

It's had all night in some cases. I went from 4.0 to 4.1 on a 406v2. The phones went from 2.3 to 2.8. This is very bewildering.

Did you place the IP firmware of the 4.1 in the TFTP data folder? Is it possible the IP phones are still loading the older 4.0 IP firmware files somehow and not updating to the new firmware?

Drew,
Did you move every file into the TFTp directory? I have been reading and it says you have to make sure you use the new .txt files and .scr files before the phones will work.

i've been having the same problem for about 1 month since Nov 2007 with a 5610 phone. i could sometimes get the phone to work if i made the router the same address as the control unit.
