4.0 XC to 5.0 Upgrade

Can I upgrade a 4.0 XC System to 5.0 directly. I know I can go 4.0 to 5.0 but wanted to be sure the XC wouldnt mess me up.

As long as you're going from 4.0 XC to 5.0 XC you'll be fine. If your 5.0 is not XC you'll default the system.

I tried this upgade wednesday and it worked great. It did not default.

bighands2468 I'm curious to know. Was that an upgrade from 4.0 XC to 5.0 XC or from 4.0 xc to 5.0 (non-xc)?

Also did you change out the NVRAM cart because I believe 4.0 used RLS 1 and 4.1 and higher used RLS 2.

It was an upgrade to a 5.0 / non XC. The old software was a 4.1 XC - I was mistaken

Just curious, did you have a PRI on it?
I tried the same thing once and ended up buying another PRI keycode cause the KSU changed serial number.
