3gb UserVA switch 2

Hello,

I have applied the \3gb \userva=3030 switch to my boot ini file but the MS ExchanegIS still reports in the event log...

The memory settings for this server are not optimal for Exchange.

Below is my boot ini line..

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows Server 2003, Standard" /fastdetect /3GB /Userva=3030 /NoExecute=OptOut

Any ideas?

Is this a domain controller?

Try running the Exchange Best Practice Analyser

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/downloads/2003/analyzers/default.mspx

This will highlight things like memory misconfigurations such as yours and it will tell you what best suits your setup. The 3GB switch should be used only on member servers according to it.

Hi,

Thaks for the post sharper, I run the analyzer tool and it metioned nothing about my memory configuration.

Although I found several other problems which I have now fixed.

I cant seem to shake this event.

If you drill down through the full report it should say somthing about memory - and if it doesn't then ignore the event 'cause all is correct.....

You make no mention of how much memory you actually have.

There is also another setting that could trigger the event.

HeapDeCommitFreeBlockThreshold

Assuming that you have more than 1 GB of course.
