3com officeconnect wireless LAN USB adapter sucks!!

3com claims this card works with all access point devices sold in the shelves. That is utterly rubbish!! I've realised
it only works with 3com access point. Other brands like Linksys access point can work with other cards like linksys, dlink ,cisco aironet etc but not 3com USB cards.

Even I configured the access point to use the default settings result in the same way too.

I wonder anyone out there encountered the same thing as I do

Are you comparing like standards? The officeconnect is IEEE802.11b, and conforms to WiFi certification. You don't mention if the other devices are 802.11b 11Mbps devices that are WiFi certified.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
