We are an interconnect that sold and maintained the 3COM line extensively in the early 2000's. The relationshiop changed as 3COM changed and we have migrated most of those customers out. We have a few hanging on, however. We have found it necessary to upgrade a system to 6.0 (NBX100) and getting a license from the distibutor has been quite an issue.
My concern is if we have to change out a chassis or a hard drive tray, how difficult is it to transfer licenses to a new system? We have one large system that is multi-site (VCX3000). I have all the hardware but without licensing the branches will be down without IP on the fly.
Customer does not have any maintenance agreements with HP.
Wanted to ask the forum what experiences they have had with this scenario.
