Just got a new machine: 733Mhz, 128Mb RAM, 20Gb HDD with a 3Com 3x90x. Installed NT 4.0 recently and was not connected to network. (device not working). So i tried another working 3Com card from the same family and even though drivers were installed, adapter was not wroking properly again! (But it worked on another machine that was W98). I tried intel card and same results. I will try it again but I'm starting to wonder if it could be the Motherboard or PCI slots that are tricky??

Help please....

Just wondering what Service pack you have loaded? Most of the time Service pack 3 (minimum) needs to be installed. SP5 seems to be the best al-around build.

I have SP3 loaded on the NT server. Should I upload SP5 or can I use SP6a? Is there a difference?

Thanks...
