I have succesfully connected a 3920 to an ETR port in Magix 2.0. I am running into difficulty trying to register the wireless repeaters. I am succesful in getting the repeater into programming but am unable to assign a repeater number using the wireless handset. The process seems to stall at this point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The 3921 must specifically register to a base that is paired with the phone itself. If serial numbers don't match, then you're screwed. You can send that stuff into Avaya, but they'll charge you for the changes if you didn't buy them through an official partner.

Now here's what's backwards: The 3920 (an earlier version by my numbering), is "generic" in that it can register with ANY base--provided you follow the steps.

Dunno what else to tell you. You bought 3921 wireless handset off eBay (which won't match your base unless you've got great luck) or your base is broken.

Sorry man. That's all I got.

The 3920 does NOT register to a specific base unit. It can be registered to any base unit. I think Tim was thinking about the 3910 which does need to be registered to a specific base unit. You should be able to register to any base unit, and set up the repeaters. It's pretty straight forward and sounds like you are going through the right steps, it could be a bad unit. If you don't have the installation manual, you can find it on the internet just to make sure you are following the right steps.

Thanks for your replies. It's a crazy thing. I have a repeater that came with the phone and later determined a second repeater would be necessary to cover some other area's, so i purchased one. I get the repeater into the programming mode but am unable to get past the point where I dial the repeater number to "sync" the new repeater to the base unit. I have auto line select on the phone set to pick up a sa key when the talk button is pushed and my pin is set to 0000. I also have the AVAYA documentation for this and believe I am doing everything right.I was wondering if I am having issues because I am using an ETR port? Thanks.
