I have a lawyers phone (DN 9175) that needs to ring 3 times, if it not answered then it needs to be forwarded to his secretary (DN 9176) where she can either:

1. Transfer the call
2. Forward Back to Lawyer if he is not on the line
3. Use express messaging

If she doe not answer the call, it needs to forward to the lawyers voicemail (7000).

Can this be done and does anybody know the programming for this?

Thanks

I would give 9176 an appearance of 9175, she'll know if he's not in and can answer the call, keep the MARP on 9175, if neither one of them answers, the call stays with 9175 and will follow the FDN and HUNT

What should I set the FDN and HUNT to? Thanks

I'd set the Lawyer to HUNT and FDN to the Secy's main number 9176. Then she can control when he goes to voice mail by her CFW'ing her phone.

It is the simplest configuration for a lawyer to understand too.

Lawyers, Surgeons and Brokers are know to need the simplest phone configs of all or they will forever be trouble for you.

Your right lots of trouble!

So in that scenario is there anyway that the call could be forwarded back to 9175 from 9176 automatically or would the secretary need to manually set CFW as you mentioned above. The problem is that the secretary might not always be at her desk but the call always needs to be answered or hit voicemail.

Thanks

You are covered in my scenario. When the Secy leaves, she just CFWs her own phone to VM or a co-worker and that sets the Lawyer to go to voice mail (or her co-worker) if he does not answer.

If the Secy answers a Lawyer call, she can just transfer the call back to him using her TRN or AO6 key.

Hi,
In your case, I would set the Lawyer to HUNT and FDN to the secretary's main number 9176 with CLS SFA
Then I would set the secretary to HUNT and FDN to voicemail (7000).
So if the lawyer does not answer, call goes on the secretary, and if she does not answer too, call will goes on the lawyer voice mail.

I have another problem, as the secretary (9176) is looking after two more lawyers (9173) and (9174). I have put SCR keys of all three on (9176) so she can see whos line is rining, but if she picks the call up off the key before it rings three times on the lawyers phone she cannot transfer it back.

Is there anyway for it to only ring on the lawyers phone then ring on hers?

If she has their SCRs then she doesn't need to transfer it back...it's already on their phone. Just create an Intercom Group (KEY X DIG g m v) and when she answers a call they should take, she evaluates the call, then puts it on hold, Calls on the Intercom "Client Jane Smith on Line 1" and the Lawyer either takes it or says "take a message"

Make the Intercom a "V" (Voice) so they can respond to the Secy without lifting the handset.

Not sure if you manually typed that all into TekTips or what... That isn't going to work well. Log in from a PC, copy the TNs, then paste them into TekTips if you need to do that again.

You have the DNs and Names all mixed up....for example

TN 029 0 00 13
KEY 00 SCR 9176 0
04 SCR 9176 0
