I have a user whom is new to our company and she tells me she needs speed dial on her 3903 phone set. I have never heard of such a thing, can anyone shed some light on this for me? I ask her if she ment ADL keys and she said speed dial. Is that SSU?

The Speed Call feature allows you to automatically dial frequently called numbers
by entering a one, two, or three digit code. Contact your network administrator to
determine the capacity of your Speed Call list.

A telephone designated as a Speed Call Controller can program or edit the Speed

Call list. This feature must be enabled by your network administrator.
To store a Speed Call Entry:

/ 1. Without lifting the handset, press the
Features Key.
2. Press the Dial Pad Number Key
assigned to the Speed Call Controller
feature. The Feature Activation
Indicator flashes.
3. Dial a 1 to 3 digit Speed Call code
(ask your network administrator for the
number of digits required.)
4. Dial the number you want to program
to the Speed Call code entered in the
previous step.
/ 5. Press the Features Key.
6. Press the Dial Pad Number Key for the
Speed Call Controller feature

To make a Speed Call:
1. Lift the handset.
/ 2. Press the Features Key.
3. Press the Dial Pad Number Key for the
Speed Call Controller feature or the
Speed Call User feature.
4. Dial the Speed Call code of the
number you want to call.
The Speed Call feature automatically
dials the number

SSU is System Speed call User - could be that she wants if you have one inplace. These are numbers stored that every one can use.

Feature description
Speed Call allows you to place calls by dialing a one-, two-, or three-digit code. You can use Speed Call for both internal and external calls. To use Speed Call, Meridian 1 proprietary telephones, and attendant consoles can have a Speed Call key/lamp pair.
Each stored number is assigned a Speed Call code from the Speed Call list. Each list can contain up to 1000 telephone numbers (entries). The maximum number of digits of the telephone number that can be stored in each entry is specified by the customer. Speed Call entries can be 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, or 31 digits long.

Speed dial and autodial get interchanged by the users.

If she just wants to push a button to dial 9-1-xxx-yyy-zzzz - then that's autodial (or even HOT D if you don't want the user configuring it).

Depends on how many numbers she wants really. If she just needs a few numbers, and she has say a 2616 with a bunch of empty keys - just program ADL or HOT D to these keys.

More than that - do a Speed Call and walk her through the process.

Comes down to user requirements.
