3903 password protection

My question is on the 3903 and password protecting the set.
NOT the password protection for the Personal Directory on the 3903.

I have user that has forgotten their password to unlock their 3903. In the Meridian Digital Telephones Quick Reference Guide on page 58 it goes over how to set the password but not what to do if the user forgets the password. I have looked in reference CD's and can't find anything on how to remove/reset a forgotten password on a 3903 set.

Do i have to "out" the 3903 in programming and then put the set in as "new" again?

there is a password reset here but i don't use it, maybe advanced search for the 3904 will locate it. it resets to the default

if your talking about a station controlled password than look at the tn of the phone and the scpw prompt.

i think he's talking about the password that the user can change from the set. ? default is 123445678, but after the user changes it, you need to use the reset command..

CPWD l s c u

will do the trick.

i would like to password protect my 3903 (not the personal directory). Could you let me kwow how you accomplished?

If you wants to unlock Personal Directory then as per John you can disable the password thru "LD 32" but if you are talking abt the phone set is locked for making outgoing calls then you hav to change CLS value thru ld 11 or 20
