I am the new manager of a bar that uses MICROS 3700. I recently had to switch the POS monitors, and now I cannot re-assign the cash register to the new monitor. I have read that I need to do this through POS CONFIGURATOR, but when I put in the user ID that the old manager left, it tell me "You do not have read privileges for this data". I NEED to get this figured out soon, because right now we cannot use our cash register. Please HELP!

Hi.
I am having difficulty understanding. You dont have access to configurator or you cant assign a cash drawer to a till?

If it is CD to a till, look up your employee class and give yourself one that allows assigning a cash drawer. Alternatively you could alter your current class to allow assigning cash drawer (Employee class\options\assignments) or if using cash management (Employee Class\Cash Management\Till Options)

The POS must also have a cash drawer (in devices\User Workstations\Cashier)

If you dont have access to configurator, it is possible to inject a user using DBISQL. I have had to hack micros systems before to add a user in situations like this where users have been locked out.

The POS configurator has a password on it that the previous manager had not left for me, so I do not have access to it at all.
If you could help me hack into it/ inject a user, I would be so grateful!

Thank you for your help, Kelly.

Hi Kelly,

I will write a small batch file and SQL statement for you and email it to you directly. It will give you a list of all users and passwords. Could you also advise if you use a single number to login or a user name and password? If using a username and password I will have to include another script to switch you to basic security.
Advanced security passwords are encrypted so we need to be using basic security.

Dr.

I use a number to sign in/out, and I know the old manager's ID number as well; but neither give me access to the configurator..

I have tried one hack using DBISQL already, but none of the user IDs it provided gave me access to the POS configurator.

Thanks for your help!!!!

Hi,

windows command files and SQL files are sent. Check your email

I am getting an error response when trying to run the scripts..saying no such file or directory exists..

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated..Thanks for the help!

As per instructions
1. Must be in the MICROS\RES\POS\ETC directory on the server
2. Output is to c:\ .

Dr. Zogg,

I'm not quite sure what happened to my "superuser" user but I can't log in with it anymore. I can still log in with my account as a property expert but for some reason the POS Configurator is giving me the message: "You don't have read privileges to this data". I ran the SQL command to see the micros_emp.def table and I could see it, but I'm guessing the superuser wouldn't show there.

I was reading this posting and thought about the possibility to get from you the batch file and SQL statement you sent before to verify if the superuser is there? I can access Micros through username and password, as well as with my user ID. I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Ricardo, it sounds like you're able to get into the configurator but unable to access anything once you're in, is that what's happening?

I can sign into my POS Configurator but I cant get into anything except for Employees. Everything else say "You do not have read privileges for this data"

Please assist.

Thanks

Hi,
If you have access to Employees, try to change your employee class to Property Expert and the backoffice class to manager.

As far as the DB access, try username/ password: support/support. Hope that helps. Some resellers use this for quick access to the DB.

Thank you all for the responses. However, I am starting to think that there may be an issue with the server I cant seem to figure out exactly what's wrong. I copied the database to another server yesterday and it worked perfectly.

I think I may just reinstall the old server if its taking too long
