3616 wireless phones & IP500 release 5.0

I have a customer that is release 4.2(17) and I want to take them up to the latest release of 5.0. However, I do not know if the six 3616 wireless phones will work. Avaya currently does not support release 4.2 or the 3616 wireless phones.

Reason for upgrade is I am trying to install a 3641 wireless phone for the customer to try. I can get the phone to connect to the AVPP but it will not upload any software. I am thinking the current software on the AVPP will not support the 3641. So I thought an upgrade to release 5 might solve this issue and the support issue for the IP500 release 4.2.

Any ideas?
