This system is installed in a residence and for some reason both the 3616 & 3641 wireless phones drop connection to the AVPP. This issue seems to have started in the last 6 months. This causes an issue when the owners try to answer an inbound call or someone presses the button at the front gate to the property which rings into the IP Office system. The customer has one hard wired IP Phone which they hear ring when a call comes into the system or the gate button is pressed. When they push the button on either the 3616 or 3641 phones they have to wait for it to connect to the AVPP. By the time the wireless handset connects the call has gone to voice mail or the gate has timed out.

Supposedly the IT Techs have not changed anything.

Thanks

What exactly is displayed on the handset when it has failed?

No SVP Response yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy Wireless IP Telephone has lost contact with the
AVPP. This may be caused by bad radio reception
or a problem with the AVPP. The Wireless IP
Telephone will keep trying to fix the problem
for 20 seconds, and the message may clear
by itself. If it does not, the Wireless IP
Telephone will restart. Report this problem
to the system administrator if it keeps
happening

No SVP Server:
1. Wireless IP Telephone can’t locate AVPP. IP address configuration of AVPP is wrong or
missing.
2. AVPP is not working. Check error status screen on AVPP.
3. No LAN connection at the AVPP. Verify AVPP connection to LAN.

You can also seek and find the Installation, Configuration, and Administration for Avaya 3641/3645 Wireless IP Telephones.

This system has been installed since June 2009. The works fine except the wireless handsets drop connection to the AVPP and or IP Office. If you pick a handset up out of the charging base and look at the display and you do not see the extension number and name you know it has lost connection. If you press the button on the phone to make a call you can see it search & connect to the AVPP. Now you can use the phone. The phones should always be connected. This is happening to 5 - 3616 & 1 - 3641.

Thanks
