I have approx. 20,000 color slides, also negatives. Also some are larger format 2 1/4 x 2 1/4, 4x5.

I guess the best way to go is get a fairly high end scanner for the 35mm slides, negs - such as a Nikon.

What models do you folks use or recommend under $500, $800, $1000 or just check eBay?

What scanner for larger formats?

Thanks, Dave

Usually, I use a Nikon coolscan IV for 35mm (slide or neg). I also used a -cheaper- Minolta, but I find a real loss in dark area.
Maybe can you find one on eBay ?
For larger ones, I use my Umax Powerlook with UTA.
If I used the "native" software for speed, I use Vuescan for difficult pictures, longer process but unmatched result.

Excellent! Thank you very much. I'll see local vendors or even distribution.

Dave

PS - You may find useful: 'IEHV' - just Google it. Does a history of IE. Similar stuff for Firefox and Searches via Google, Yahoo, etc. You can export as *.txt or *.html files. Really great & free.

Very good offer indeed. I've paid my IV model well over $1000
