Hi everyone,

I am trying to program an MWI button on Ext 132 (5330IP handset) to show when messages are waiting in VM box 555 - which has been designated as 'reception overflow'.

I've programmed the button but it does nowt - I understand that this may be down to VM grouping and ports, but since I have had <1 minute of formal Mitel training, this part eludes me and I normally stick to setting up extensions and VM boxes for pretty obvious reasons!

Would someone be kind enough to keep things simple and walk me through this.

The switch is running 4.1 SP1

Thanks

What extension is associated with MB 555 in the extension field of the mailbox?

Does that extension exist on the 3300 and if so, what type of device is it?

Hi:

VM Mailbox:

Extension number: 555
Mailbox type: Extension

Message notification
Type: Extension
Number: 555

there a 555 on the MCD?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

yup you missed my second question

You put a MWI button with a number of 555, nothing more to do if I remember correctly.

What KWBMitel is asking, is there an extension 555 on the MCD.
If you go to the Maintenance Commands and type in "Locate Number 555" what does the MCD tell you.... Post what you see.
Thanks

Thanks guys.....

Locate Number 555 gives...

The number refers to a Superset 5220 IP

You have the correct information when adding a message waiting light to a set... maybe delete the extisting MWI on set 132.

Save after erasing the button on 132.

Open extension 132 under Users and Devices.
Click on the Keys tab.
Find the key that you want to change and double click (or click on change all)

Create the new key with Label: MWI 555 the Key is MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) and the extension 555 and SAVE.

This will enable the button to flash when there is a new message in 555

Hi chaps...

I programmed an MWI button for 555 on my 5235 and it worked straight away, but when I tried on a 5220 and another 5235 it didn't work on those.

Should I be looking at some grouping function somewhere??

Thanks

Sigh - two days after my last posting all the buttons on all phones just started to work!

Nope - the system was not restarted!

??

I suppose the system was just waiting for April Fools.
