And you have ftp server running on your laptop. And there is a user ftp with "ftp" password. Do you see any connection attempts in the ftp server log? Do you have a network sniffer on the laptop? If so is there any activity from ICP?

Try using internet explorer on your laptop to open a FTP session to yourself using the Same credentials.

URL = ftp://192.168.1.7

Make sure the files are actually there.

Try to drag a file into and out of the directory to prove access rights.

Last, try to ping the controller

If all of these succeed, you should have no issues

Just noticed something else, you might want to try the @ symbol for the password instead of ftp.

I have tried web browsing to the ftp server and it does not find the files, however if i go to the directory c:\Inetpub\ftproot, the files are there?

Also just tried it with the ftp password as @, still no joy!

Think i may have a dead system!?!?

This is a new screenshot.

Hi Woody,

It looks like yo don't have a ftp server configured, as this is what is used to download the software from your pc to the Mitel system.

If you select this link below, this will direct you to the wftpd server which is free software you are able to use.

hope this helps

Andy

Remove the HostName (bootHost), put a space there and try again.

Ok i will give this a go MiteGuy, Andy4uk i do have ftp server running it is the inbuilt windows one through loading iis, i have done many upgrades from my current laptop with no issue's.

Thanks
Woody

In administrative tools/IIS change the default ftp server ip address to 192.168.1.7. (Will appear in the dropdown).

You will now have access to your ftp server via a web browser.

Job Done.

Dont forget to remove the boothost value. (think a comma(,) will remove the field)
