I’ve got an odd fault with the SMDR on a 3300 (analog lines).
When I make an outgoing call and the other party doesn’t answer, there is a timer against that call, therefore the call logging software puts a charge against that call.

Has anyone got any idea which flag is on the system so I can turn that off, please?
I thought I should get an A T100 to state if the call was answered but I don't get it regardless if the call is answered or not...

If you mean analog trunks on the 3300 then check the CO trunk circuit descriptors. The is a setting called fake answer supervision after outpulsing. That will make the system consider the called party has answerd even if it has not. That will start the call timer and may be your problem. If you change the option the system will need to get answer supervision from the central office to cut through voice on a call.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Thanks, mate! yes, the analogue trks are on the 3300. I'll get that checked and let you know. I've only looked into SMDR options so far and not the COS for the trunks / users.

Most call logging software should allow you to set minimum timers for billing and ring timers.

A typical setting might be 45 seconds minimum and 25 seconds ring timer.

This means that only calls greater than 45 seconds will be billed and if so, 25 seconds are taken off to allow for ring before answer.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

I know, but their support is rubbish ?! They even said that mitel controller sends the charges to them ?! They haven't got any controll for the charges in their software as everything comes via smdr... makes me laugh

called fake answer supervision was setup to Yes so I've changed it to No and I'll monitor it tomorrow
