Hi

Im looking to have all my outgoing calls show as coming from our main number rather than showing everybodys indvidual extension.

How do i do this?

If you are using PRI
Then you could try CPN substitution
If using DASS2 then turn off DASS II OLI/TLI Provided on both the trunks and sets COS

I would say that you are looking at removing programming rather than adding it.

For the system to be showing the individual numbers, it must be configured in either the CPN Substitution Form or in the Associated Number Form. Removing this programming should achieve your goal.

The CPN substitution form has a default number that needs to be programmed with the Company Number.

It may depend on location and service type
In the UK by default (for PRI) if your extn number matches your DDI number with same number of incoming digits then you do not need to program the CPN substitution form
Normally if the extns do not match the DDI then CPN substitution is required to get the CLI displayed as a DDI number, however if the CPN substitution is not programmed and the extn number does not match a number in the DDI range then the default (main number) is displayed on outgoing calls, this is controlled by the carrier as the default CPN, but can be selected/changed in the default CPN form if another number belonging to the DDI range is to be dislayed.
For DASS2 the CPN substitution forms will not work and the carrier controls the outgoing CLI and number. Again if the extn number matches a number in the DDI range then it will be displayed only if the DASS2/OLI/TLI is enabled on both the trunk and extn COS.
If the DASS2/OLI/TLI is off then only the first number of the DDI range is displayed.

With T1 the system will only send what digits you tell it to or default if none programmed. There is no way to send the extension other than via the CPN table or Assoc Digits.

@Supernova99 - I'm a little surprised that E1 is so different. What I understand from your last post is that the Mitel will send the Extension number even if not told to do so via the CPN table or Assoc Digits. Please elaborate. I'm curious.

Basically,
if the carrier sends the same number of ddi digits as the extn numbers e.g. incoming digits 1000 extn 1000 with no digit maninupations then when dialling out the carrier detects the CPN as a perfect match and will display the DDI CLI corectly

It is only when things differ you need to use CPN substitution
e.g. carrier sends 881000 into system and trunk attribtes absorb 2 digits
When dialling out you will need to use the CPN substitution to correct CPN to ensure that 88xxxx is masked so the carrier presents the corect CLI

With DASS2 you need the incoming digits to match extn number to present the outgoing CLI as the DDI number there is no way to manipulate through CPN substitution

@ Supernova99

OK, but I appear to still be missing how the system would send the DID (DDI) in the first place.

I beleive that on T1 with nothing programmed in the CPN/Assoc forms then the system will send nothing at all. Confidence level is not 100%. I don't think I've ever tried this.

Maybe it is just the differences between T1 & E1 I suppose!
