Hello all,
Is there a way to do the following?
I want to record the calls of everyone in a dept. then send that call to a generic vm box RATHER than that phones ext.

I know we can enable it to go to the phones ext, but would like them all to go to a gereral mailbox.

We have 3300's and Nupoint VM sys.
TIA!

I'm not too sure if that's possible. I setup a call recording key not long ago which works well, although not sure all calls can be auto recorded. Depending on how many users you have it would flood your VM system as well.

Have you thought about recording at a network level? I use Opal who have a really good web interface where you can listen to your calls.

We have a 3300 ICP and Nupoint messenger we use a OAISYS Tracer system to record all inbound and outbound calls for our facility. OAISYS tracer allows you to email the call as a .wav file, as well as many other decent features.

The following is straight out of the Manual for Nupoint 12.0

Record-A-Call - Configuration
The Record A Call (RAC) feature requires programming on both the 3300 ICP and the NuPoint Messenger IP server. The tasks for enabling the Record A Call feature for licensed users can be divided into the two following task groups:

3300 ICP Record A Call Configuration;

NuPoint Messenger Record A Call Configuration.

Programming Tasks to Enable Record A Call on the 3300 ICP
For additional information or detailed procedures for enabling Record A Call on the 3300 ICP, refer to the 3300 ICP System Administration Tool Help.

To enable the Record A Call feature for licensed users, you must:

Upgrade to a 3300 ICP Release 5.1.3 or higher.

Purchase and enable the Advanced Voice Mail feature license.

Note: You also need to purchase an EMEM mailbox for the RAC functionality. However, if you plan to use the Advanced Voice Mail feature without RAC, then you do not need to purchase an EMEM mailbox.

Configure voice mail integration ports that are representing NuPoint ports (other than MWI ports) as 5240 phone types. After configuring the phones to be 5240 types, reboot NuPoint so that it can re-register its sets. Note that telephones other than 5240 devices do not have sufficient softkey functionality and require additional feature key programming in order to support the Record A Call feature.

Note: The MWI ports must remain as type 5020.

Set the Record A Call Class of Service (COS) to "RAC Active - Yes" for the COS number applied to the user's telephone to enable Record A Call functionality on the user's telephone.

Set the Recorder Hunt Group and add the appropriate voice mail ports as Recorder Hunt Group members.

Programming Tasks to Enable Record A Call on the NuPoint Messenger Server
To enable the Record A Call feature for licensed users, you must

Upgrade to NuPoint Messenger Release 9.0. Refer to the System Upgrades section for more information.

Purchase the Record A Call Option.

Reboot or re-activate the NuPoint system.

Assign the associated Record A Call feature bit 291 to the Feature Class of Service (FCOS).

Assign the Record A Call FCOS to all Record A Call users' mailboxes.

Note: Each Record A Call user's telephone and mailbox must have one COS and one FCOS assigned to it in order to be activated with the Record A Call feature.

Assigning the Feature Bit to the FCOS
Perform the following steps to assign the FCOS feature bit:

1. From the Main Menu, select (S) System Maintenance, and then (R) Reconfiguration.

2. From the System Configuration menu, select (F) Feature Class of Service, and (A) Add Feature.

3. At the Add Feature Number prompt, type the feature bit number 291 and press enter.
