It is my understanding that Mitel is no longer supporting the Tapi Drivers.

That being said, I still have the drivers and find they are very useful for my customers that want to dial directly from their Outlook Contacts.

I just tried setting this up on a Vista machine and it doesn't seem to work. (Big surprise...Not)

Bottom line, has anyone tried this and got it to work with Vista?

I think Microsoft did not include TAPI or some parts of it in Vista. At least new Mitel SDK built as platform independent package which can run on Linux or Windows.

Vista is supposed to support TAPI but who knows until you try it. What type of sets do they have, that free Office companion application for 5330 and 5340 sets will dial out of outlook.

I didn't know there was a basic version of IOC that did not require Licensing.

IOC works. Thanks.

kwbMitel,

I've been looking for the IOC software with the non-license requirement for the company I work at for a long time now.
Since we're also being refused of receiving our username and password for the Ebiz login (For some reason we're no parter anymore ..) I'm not able to gain the software at all.

Would it be possible for you to zip/rar the IOC software and place it somewhere on the web?
You would do me a great favor with that!

Thanks in advance!

Dear kwbMitel,

seems the software is only compatible with Mitel 5300 phone which we don't have.
Thanks for uploading it on the web for us though ;)

But you might have a solution for our current issue.
Let me first tell you some of the hard- and software:
The software we use is YA Lite 3.09.
The hardware we use is Mitel 3300.
The operating system we have installed on our systems is Windows XP Professional with .NET 1.1 installed.

Starting the YA Lite 3.09 software and trying to connect to our phone results into the following error:

Your device appears to be out of service. Please contact your system administrator for assistance. Would you like to go to offline mode now?
Click OK to continue to use YA in offline mode. Click Cancel to quit YA.

The phone we are trying to connect to is logged in.
In the Class of Service we have HTC/TAPI enabled.
So it should work according to the Mitel documentation ..

Do you have any idea what can cause this error and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

No, sorry.

The version you refer to is very outdated and not worth the bother. It was released as a free teaser to spark interest. The product as delivered today is much improved.

Bottom line, You get what you pay for.

Dear kwbMitel,

if our version is outdated, are you able to supply us with the latest Your Assistant Lite which is working under Windows Vista?

We got YA Lite 3.09 working now by using the IP Phone Emulation Tool which comes standard with the Your Assistant software.

We tried the same settings under Vista to get it working but no success.
After doing some research with Google I found there should be a version 4.xx around which is Vista compatible.
Would be great if you got this version and willing to upload it somewhere to the internet!

Thanks for helping us so far!

Kind regards,

FoocWa

YA lite no longer exists and has not existed for quite some time. You must purchase the YA application if you want access to updates.

As I said before, YA lite was a teaser.
