In version 6.0 of the Mitel 3300 ICP there is a user import option from the system admin gui

Quote from PPT
"User data import capability
Optional configuration tool that allows administrators to quickly import a large number of new users and devices simply by importing configuration data from a comma separated file (.csv) format spreadsheet directly into your 3300 ICP database"

Im yet to play with it as I cant find the download on the MOL website

Just found out that the release date for Rev 6 to the MOL site is 15 July.

I've played with a pre-release, looks pretty good. You guys will like SDS (Shared Data Service?) as well.

Hi Miteltech,

How come you got to play with a pre-release?

Do you actually work for mitel direct?

Ian

Some dealers have it already. Mitel lets dealers pre run the software as trial sites before it goes General Availability (GA).

Generally only the big dealers like Delphi Solutions ;) get to beta the software.

Wow, nice to know I work for a big dealer :) Here in Calgary we don't do trial sites anymore as it has been too much of a problem in the past. Don't know about our other offices though...

My theory on betas... If you are a Mitel dealer you should be more then willing to drop the beta software in. You get it free and if you sell the products then you should trust the products. On the flip side, Mitel has to always be releasing good code.

I know that I don't like Manufacturers like Mitel, Nortel, Panasonic, etc... using my customers as guinee pigs. If there are too many problems, customers get made at you, not Mitel.

I don't mind using the beta in a lab setting.

Field Trials aren't free. You get it at a reduced price and then when it is finally released you get the release free. It is a discount, but the customer may or may not have a good functioning system. So as a dealer you may be doing a lot of patches on your time so that the customer gets a product at a reduced price...

It is now Mitel policy that these patches are installed in regional offices before they get to FT/beta. They should be good stuff (not error free) to use.

If your not getting FT for free then you don't know how to deal with Mitel.
