I have a customer with a 3300 that currently uses a centralized embedded mail for a 4 controller cluster.

On occasion, the main site has gone down, eliminating VM
for all sites.

The customer wants to look at networked VM

I recently tried to implement Networked VM at another site and it was a boondoggle.

The documentation seems to indicate that a PNI is required as well which I really don't want in my cluster.

Has anyone setup networked embedded VM and had it work as advertised?

You do not need a PNI if you have IP trunks all you need is the cluster built. Then the rest of the programming is done in the mail. If you have access to Mitel Support review the update doc on the 3300 when this came out.

The manual states that for a user to forward a message to a user on one of the other systems they must enter the PNI and then the remote VM number.

My limited experience with the one instance that I played with networked VM seems to support that you need the PNI for forwarding messages remotely.

Without the PNI the voicemail responds that the mailbox does not exist.
