I vaguely remember reading that the 3300 was going to embed the ability for conferencing (limited)

I can't find the source.

Has anyone else heard of such a thing?

(No I am not talking about Non-Busy Extension.)

There was the ability to run the MAS (Mitel Application Suite) on the APC card you could throw in a 3300 controller for a while (might still be available, I'm not sure), but I'm assuming that's not what you're talking about.

Nope and the APC is MD'd

I also remember a rumor of a conference bridge of some sort in MCD 6.0. Guess that didn't make it....

Ok, Mitelmatt, thanks for the info.

Can you quote a source?

It took 11+ years for the 3300 to get Call Coverage to voicemail (not counting the 20 years it was missing on the SX2000). Any bets on on how long dial in conferencing will take?

What is this Call Coverage thing of which uou speak?

Direct Transfer to Voice Mail using the Message button. Enabled by programming a Voice Mail pilot number in the MCD 6.0 Call Coverage form. Lets a user access their mailbox by pressing the Message key or transfer a caller to the Voice Mail by pressing the Message button and entering the mailbox number they are transferring to.

From the MCD 6.0 Help:
Direct Transfer to Voice Mail transfers an active call directly to the requested party's voice mailbox instead of waiting for the system to transfer it there after ringing the party's phone. Use this feature when you know that the party is unavailable or when the caller only wishes to leave them a voice message.

To transfer the call to a voice mailbox, simply press the Message key, and then dial the destination extension (or use a DSS or Speedcall key). The call is transferred unsupervised to the mailbox owner's personal greeting while the transferring party's phone receives dial tone or returns to idle. During the transfer setup, the caller is placed on soft hold and presented with Music on Hold (if provisioned). To abort the transfer and reconnect the caller, press Cancel at any time before the last digit in the transfer destination number is dialed.

Thanks SXWizard, I knew about the direct transfer to VM but was unfamiliar with the terminology.

Personally, I don't share your scepticism on feature delivery. The difficulty is getting things on the roadmap. I have 2 items on my wish list that are yet to be added that the system desperately needs but I'm not holding my breath for. Direct to ARS (no dial 9 req'd) and a DID translation table. If these ever get on the roadmap, I'll quite likely squeal like a little girl.

Call coverage services also includes PIN security message when linked with MAS.
So that if a secure PIN is required and a user either tries to change it or it has an easy PIN the user will be directed to the MAS server to change it.
Also call coverage delivers post call diversion. so that callers can be sent to an IVR to complete a survey for example at the end of the call.

Well, let me be first to welcome you back.

Now if we can Get IrwinFletcher back on board, we'd be a full crew again.

Loupylou's been taking up most of the slack lately (thankfully)
