3300 CXI LAN PORTS

I was just called out to a site with a 3300 CXI controller. None of their phones are working and the controller has a flashing alarm light and a solid HDD light with no Power LED on.

Logged into the maint port and power cycled the switch.

Okay after several minutes this came up. Looks like a hard drive error.

A task was trying to write a log to the HDD. I'm not sure what you can do in this case since the system isn't fully up. Hopefully you have a db backup as I would guess you'll have to replace the HDD.

I'll have to locate a backup, i've been taking over a recently departed mitel tech's responsibilities. Hopefully he had them. I'm going to try something i've done before as a temp measure to get a backup. One system I upgraded the software and it corrected the disk errors, i backed it up and then replaced that hard drive. I'll have to see if it is possible to upgrade this box using the compactflash slot.

Okay I have another hardrrive that i am going to install and watch the system boot up. This is to verify whether the controller is fried as well. If it comes up and the lan ports are turned on then I'll have to rebuild the database again because there wasnt a backup made that I can locate.
