3300 CX Bootrom Alarm
Rel 4.2

I've never seen this alarm before. I am considering calling Mitel but I thought I would see if some of you might have a quick suggestion.

So that did it.

It seems this is the first time ever that I have not upgraded the system upon arrival.

In 10 years of working with 3300's I have never had to do this.

Thanks

This got me the first time I came across it too. I it is normally caused by a mismatch in firmware between parts of the system (mmc, e2t & controller I beleive)

Everything is fine after restart.

The E2T was fine before as I was placing calls over PSTN earlier.

I have not seen this before on a brand new controller, However I have seen this on numerous occasions when either adding a E2T card or replacing the RTC card (both the same) Aso if you replace the system chassis.

One thing that is often overlooked by system installers upgrading systems is to remember to upgrade the bootrom of the E2T.
All software upgrades, upgrade the RTC during the upgrade process, however the E2T is a manual UPGRADEBOOTROM ALL.

Note if you have an AX controller and you issue this command it will disable all the analog cards while it checks to see if they also need upgrading.

This error is almost as good as the one I had last week with a CXII controller that I had to downgrade for the customer to match the rest of the network.
I had a major alarm stating a system FAN failure!!
This is fixed in Rel 4.0 SP3 PR1 (10.0.3.14_1) however the rest of the cluster was on 10.0.2.8

Also another new error to be aware of on the new MXeIII controllers is 'MSP430 failure' which confused the hell out of me! is now fixed in 4.2 SP2

Guess its good process to do this on any new system or when installing a new system module.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

@ Loopylou - It appears so.

If you happen to be connected to the maintenance port and watching the controller load you will seem, near the end, the controller loading the DSP modules. If the bottom mismatches it will show there and tell you to do the upgrade boot room all.
