Is there a way to block guest room phones from making LD/International calls with the push of a button from a 5540 console? I only want to block those kinds of calls on the phones of my choosing from the console. I do not want to block all LD and International calls using COS or ARS.

Thanks

You can change the restriction of individual rooms via the guest services key (you may need to program this). There is also some additional programming required in hotel options assignment to define COR's for each level of restriction.

Yes, the guest services key is programmed on the 5540. Guest room firmkey programmed on the 5540. I found the instructions in the 5540 console user's manual:
Push the Guest Service Key>Dial the Rm #> Press Status> Press Call Rest.(I had her restrict LD calls)> Press Set

I've gone into the Hotel Options form and it appears that the settings for all of the call restrictions(Internal, Local, LD, Options 1-2-3) are all set to 1. I assume this is ok since it is already defined. I had her test this by restricting LD calls from an occupied guest room. She was still able to make LD calls.

If they are all one, and you use PMS for assigning guest name + restrictions on check in/out, then I have to assume that you have no class of restrictions configured on the system or that COR 1 is allowed to make external calls.

Suggest you get your vendor to investigate the COR programming on the system and provide you with different COR's for each restriction option

There's no PMS integration. Lol! I am the vendor bobcheese. I recieved my basic and advanced 3300 certificatons last March & April but recently installed my first 3300. Don't recall discussing this feature(this particular scenario) in my training class in Atlanta. Yes, COR programming was discussed in training.

thanks man!

Ok, if you have defined COR values via ARS then you need to put the relevant COR levels into the corresponding levels in hotel options and then use guest services to change as required

You don't typically get much training on the "applications" of the 3300 or hotel motel in the Mitel courses. If you have a MOL account would suggest you search for the additional Hospitality self study courses to learn more about that option. As bobcheese says you setup your ARS for allowing various levels of calling and during that create guest COR's for local, LD and Intl calling. You then put those values in the Hotel programming which allow the system to assign a particular COR at checkout ( restricted ), a different COR at check in ( local ) and allows that COR to be changed through guest services button ( LD and Intl )for rooms.

The Different restrictions should be set to grant different access.

If they are all set to 1 then they are all the same and changing them serves no purpose.

You say you do not want to restrict by COR and restricting by COR is the only way to accomplish your task.

It is simple enough to create a restiction level by COR that will do exactly what you want and then activate that via the associated guest room restriction.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Agree with kwbMitel. COR is Class of Restriction and the only way to restrict dialing patterns in a flexible method.
