I know when I installed this system that I was able to do call forwarding by setting up a call forwarding profile and then just activating it. For some reason when you activate forward always profiles, it doesn't forward and shows the call on the handset and a forward button appears in the top. What could have caused this to change? Has anyone ever seen this behavior?

I think I have made some real progress toward fixing this issue. This PBX hosts about 40 businesses located within the same building and there are two centralized attendant consoles that service the different businesses. In order to answer the calls in the name of the busnesses, I used Hunt Groups and named the hunt group. I have noticed that extensions that answer calls after the hunt group the forwarding doesn't work. If I enter the direct extension in system speed call, the forwarding works. I noticed that there was a setting in System options assignment called "number of forward hops" this has been set to 2. I am going to set it to 4 or 5 and see if this fixes the problem. I'll post if that fixes my issue.

That makes sense. 2 fwd hops would be unusually low.

I tried changing the forward hops and that didn't work either. I have narrowed it down to the fact that my system won't forward calls originating from a did linked to a hunt group. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Call forwarding does work if Hunt Groups are not used and the handset extension is keyed into System Speed Call Assignment.

I take it the ringing station is a member of the hunt group?

Suffice it to say, this should have been mentioned earlier.

The forward always condition is ignored when the call is presented via a hunt group. This is design intent and has been so forever.

The extension is a member of the hunt group. In the past call forwarding used to work. Do you have a suggestion on how to Post the Business name in the attendant console without using hunt groups?

Forward on no answer will work but not an Always forward. I doubt your assertion that it worked before. Sorry, but I have to go with my experience here.

Without know much about your setup it is difficult to advise on alternatives.

You say that the hunt group is associated with a specific company. Have you considered forwarding the hunt group instead of the member via the Call Forward Third Party Access code?

KwbMitel, thanks the third party worked. Do you know of a way to program that onto buttons on a 5330 handset?

Program the full digit string as a system speed call with an access code.

I use something like **xxxx to turn on and ##xxxx to turn off. XXXX = hunt group. The actual dialed digits = third party codes for activating and deactivating fwd.

The key on the 5330 would be CDE speedcall with **XXXX as digits.

That worked perfectly. Thank you very much for everyone's help!!!
