Brand new 3300ICP release 4.2 with ASUII 24 port ONS card, and none of the message waiting lights are working on the analog sets with embedded vmail.

Checked programming and seems fine in ONS/OPS Circuit descriptor, and is applied in analog sets form.

Dialed feature code to activate message waiting light on set but only works on IP phones.

Tried changing COS for the analog sets to IP sets COS but no MWI still.

Is there an issue with 4.2 and analog MWI?
Does anyone else have MWI working on an ASUII with 4.2?
Is there some strange new option in COS I may have missed?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure? It sounds like the Message Waiting option is not turned on.

are you sure that ASU II supports msg waiting lights on ons sets? I would need to check the EG's. What happens if you set the msg waiting to interupted dial tone? Does this work when messages are left in the mailboxes?

MWI works on ASU II's. The only thing that I can think of to prevent it is the Descriptor Option.

Agree with kwbMitel. Only need the circuit descriptor set for it to work. What kind of single line sets we talking about? Are they something funky. Did you try some other type of sets. The MWI has certain characteristics that might not work with all phones. The only other issue I can think of is that there might be a power problem. Do the sets ring when called? MWI used to use the same power as ringing to light the lights.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

You may have a problem with certain MW lamps designated as HIGH VOLTAGE. I have had problems with Nortel single line phones.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Well seems to be the Astra analog sets they wanted don't like MWI. Put a bittel set on there and works perfect.

So note that for yourselves to avoid the grief, don't use the Astra sets on the ASUII. The weird part is that apparently they have the same sets at a different school but the controllers are at 4.0 or 4.1 so who knows. The Astra sets feel really cheap so no big surprise.

Thanks for the replies though!
