30 second delay

Hi

I have clients that can use the domino system fine. However if they go away and come back again about half hr later and they click on a view or try and open a database they have around a 30 second delay.


Does anybody know what is causing this and how to stop it happening

Hi,

Do you have a lot of sessions on your server?
If you set the sessions timeout to low then the server will have to create a new session when they come back.

Creating sessions uses a lot more resources then keeping existing ones open. Maybe this causes the delay.

On the other hand a lot of other things may be causing this. Maybe their network connection was dropped and needs to be re-established, maybe their computer turned off the hardddisk or network adapter to save power, maybe a screensaver interferes with Notes operation,...

A lot of things to investigate therefore!
