I’m attempting to backup a BCM 3.7 and it’s sending me back an error: 1222. The error says “THE NETWORK IS NOT PRESENT OR NOT STARTED”. I’ve attempted to back it up to a server as well as my laptop. This customer has 2 BCM’s on the network and I’m able to back up the 3.6 but not the 3.7. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Do you have the BCM and your Pc in the same network segment? I had the same. I fixed it by changing my Pc to the same net-segment.

Yes,
I connected up to another BCM that’s in my lab and used all the same info and I was able to backup it up. I got this error when I attempted to back up my customers BCM on there network as well as when I connected it directly through the second port on the BCM directly to my laptop with a cross over.
I Googled the error and I found reports of a Windows 2000 Operator system error code. That states the same thing The network is not present or not started.

Have you tryed to connect to the serial port tele net in or with procom works great

Actually I found the fix. The reason it wouldn't backup or allow me to enter in the RIP addresses was because of the system name. YES the system name. I have the BCM connected to the network and one of the servers was named the same as my BCM name so they were conflicting with each other. It also prevented the BCM from running RASMAN services. I think this would apply to all systems that go onto a customers network not just BCM. I have to confirm with the customer but it may be because they're using DNS. But I think this was a great find.
