Hey guys,

I'm trying to investigate something before I have to try it here.

My customers intent is to have a 9608 have a secondary SIP registrar of an Audiocodes MP-114 device, so that if the WAN breaks to the IPO, the 9608 will register with the Audiocodes MP-114 and allow them to make outbound calls over analog trunks on the MP-114.

Can the secondary sip registrar ip address be added to the 96xxsettings file?

I may be barking up the wrong tree here.

I have never tried this setup before.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

That's what everyone keeps saying but I have a new customer who's system is full of 9608's as sip endpoints.

Well that was a stupid thing to do, they now effectively have expensive analogue phones that could give them far more features...who does that? :)

How is it different from a CM system I wonder?

I have a 9611G set up as a sip device from a CM in my home office.

It looks the same as any I've seen with access to the same features as any I've seen.

96x1 phones on SIP use session manager which is a totally different solution.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I'd love to know how they are doing this then. [bigears]

The only official way that IP Office supports 9600 Series SIP firmware is when working as a branch for an Avaya Aura network. In that case the phones are registered to the Aura SM as their primary but can fallback to the IP Office during network problems.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
