2d map not propagating all the way up....

Hi,

I'm having difficulties getting warning or critical status
to propagate upwards within my 2d map, this does not seem to happen automatically, agent view show critical but icon or buisness process view does not go critical..

Could any one advise what I should be checking...

Hi,

Maybe the propagation is unchecked. goto 2dmap, select node, right click and select open details to check.


If propagation is unchecked, lower level status would not propagate up.

- Check if the server is sending its traps with the same name as presented in the 2D-map
- Is the server sending SNMP-traps at all, check in the console log
- Is the server classified correctly
- What is the node view status for the agent?
- Check if the subnet is under correct DSM-server in gwipfltii.dat (if you are running 3.0) on your core-server or gwipflt.dat (if you are running 2.4) on your DSM
- Run a SETDSMNAME on your core-server (Unicenter 3.0) to tell your DSM:s what subnets to monitor
- If the machine has more than one nic:s be sure to set the correct IP-address to send traps from in trap_override_address. After setting the IP-address, run a clean_sadmin (this will clean the agent settings for the server, be sure to have a configset saved first).
