Hello,

My understanding is that the STP should only be enabled on ports that are attached to other hubs/switches, not when they are attached directly to hosts. Is there a way to globally turn the STP off on all ports at once, and then how do you enable them one at a time???

Thanks in advance!

No you have to turn portfast on every port. Check out the web site on how to config portfast enable on the the 2948. It's something like spanning-tree portfast enabled. You have to do it for each interface. I don't think the 2948 uses range commands.

You can write a perl script to create the config and then cut and paste or tftp it to the switch.
