2900XL Configuration

I know thisis going to sound pretty stupid to all you cisco Guru's out there, but here it goes anyway. I have a 2900XL. it works fine with what ever is plugged into it. But I want to use it as my WAN switch and it will not linkup to my Router or Firewall. I did make it through the VLAN IP address setup, and the password setup but other then that I haven't a clue??? Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you previously have your router plugged directly into your firewall? If so, you need to replace that cable ( a cross-over) with a straight through. It is possible that negotiation is failing between the switch and the FW/Router. Try hardcoding the speed and duplex settings for the interfaces which will link up to your Router and firewall.
