Howdy. I just recently got the service port working with my computer with the help of an other thread, but now I need to get the password changed so I can actually configure it. I've seen all the messages about backdoors of the baynet switches over telnet and console but none have given any sort of steps to recover the passwords. Can anyone help me recover the password on my baystack 28115 switch?

Thanks,
Matt

So far as I know You can back door in and set a new password, but you cannot find out the current one

Once you have a new password, why would it help to know the current one? I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Does anyone know the process of getting in the backdoor of the 28115 and setting a new password?

Attach a console, reset the switch, at password entry try ctrl+b, a, ctrl+y, n, ctrl+e, t. the whole lot spells "baynet", but use ctrl b, y and e I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Thanks for the help. Everything is working fine now.
