Here's my set up:

Cable Modem to Linksys VOIP

From the ethernet port to e0 of the 2514

and then e1 to my laptop

I have e0 on the same subnet as the Linksys VOIP

and then e1 on a different subnet with the interface and PC IP address on the same subnet.

From my laptop to e1 I can't ping e1.

On the router it shows line protocol is down.

Can I not have the laptop directly connected to the router?

I just realized I need a crossover cable.

My apologies for creating this thread. - I'd delete it if I knew how.

Okay - looks like I need help afterall.

I know this is simple but I haven't done this in awhile so I'm having problems thinking.

So here is the problem.

First the setup

Linksys VOIP
e1 - XP
e2 - 2514

2514
e1 - Linksys VOIP
e2 - Laptop

There are no configs up except turning on the interfaces.

From my Laptop I can ping everything except the XP box.
From my XP Box I can only ping up to e1 of the 2514

From the router I can ping everything except for my Laptop.

Here is my IP scheme

Linksys - 192.168.15.1
XP - 192.168.15.100
2514 e1 - 192.168.15.7

2514 e2 - 193.193.193.1
Laptop - 193.193.193.2
